I believe that:

• education is a means of freedom.  That education is a tool that one can use to meet all of his or her dreams and aspirations.
• education is the key to creating a world based on peace and tolerance.
• a teacher's role is to act as a facilitator.  That is, it is to provide students with opportunities to access and work with the wealth of knowledge available to them.
• relevancy is the key to learning.  Students today are 21st century learners, they are adept at using technology to expand their knowledge and demonstrate their learning.
• that numeracy is the universal language that all students are capable of learning.
• children come to school with a wide variety of preconceived ideas, and the school environment should provide them with opportunities to expand on these ideas.
• by keeping an open mind and by making myself available to students, parents and other educators,  I too will learn new things everyday.
